BVMI volunteers play a critical role in providing free healthcare to low-income, working Bergen County adults who don't have insurance. Last year, they donated more than $503,000 in professional services.

"BVMI would not exist without our volunteers," said BVMI CEO Amanda Missey. "We rely on them to provide the compassionate care that our patients deserve and are very grateful that they have chosen to give their time and talents to change the lives of our patients."

BVMI provides free primary care to Bergen County residents who do not have insurance. It relies on volunteer doctors, nurses, nurse practitioners and other clinicians -- and lay volunteers -- to carry out its mission.
