ROCHELLE PARK, N.J. -- Come enjoy a pancake breakfast in Rochelle Park on Sunday, Dec. 11, as two local American Legion posts partner to raise funds for Autism Speaks.
Rochelle Park's Post 170 and Lodi's Post 136 are working together on the event.
The breakfast menu will include pancakes, eggs, sausage, crumb cake, juice, tea and coffee. The cost is $5 at the door, and kids under 6 get in free.
The fundraiser also includes a tricky tray and a 50/50 raffle. One local woman noted on the Facebook event page that she's busy crocheting a blanket in the Autism Speaks logo colors.
Santa Claus will also be there with gifts for kids under 13.
The American Legion will also host a fundraising breakfast on Sunday, Nov. 13, to recoup some of the losses from the break-ins over the last few months, which the Daily Voice reported last week.
Nine people -- one adult and eight teens, including three juveniles -- were seen on surveillance videos consuming the bar's alcohol and snacks, and stealing cash from the tip jar.
The November breakfast will have the same menu and time.
The breakfasts will run from 8:30 a.m.-noon. Post 170 is at 33 W. Passaic St., Rochelle Park.
The American Legion hosts fundraisers for a variety of causes throughout the year, including for the Ladies Auxiliary, the building fund and local baseball. To keep up with the post's events, you can follow the group on Facebook.
