HACKENSACK, N.J. – The Atlantic Street Park Mini Concert Series will present Hometown Heroes Night on Friday, featuring Elijah Bland, from 7-8:30 p.m. at Atlantic Street Park in Hackensack.

Born and raised in Hackensack, Bland is an R&B and jazz singer, songwriter, producer and musician. The independent release of his full-length album "Soulcentric" gained international acclaim with the singles “Talk To Me” and “Necessary," which was nominated for Best R&B Song in the Independent Music Awards.

Other performers include John Rogers,, the Blossom Sisters Dance Studio and poet and educator Toney Jackson.

The concert is free for all ages. Other concerts in the Friday night series include:

  • July 22: Dance party
  • July 29: Caribbean night
  • Aug. 5: Latin night

Bring chairs and blankets for seating.
