"I've lived in this town for 31 years, and I always wanted to bring something big here," Rick Davis, one of the organizers, told Daily Voice. "I wanted to do a variety of elements, to attract as wide a group of people as possible."

In addition to bands, vendors and food trucks, the carnival will feature 12 different carnival rides, a beard and mustache competition by the Garden State Beard & Mustache Society, cabaret by Aerial Gypsy Burlesque, and fire dancing by Andromeda Artistry Productions.

PetValu and Pitter Patter Dog Rescue are also partnering to bring a pet adoption event, which will run until 4 p.m.

"It's something for everybody," Davis said, "as cliche as that sounds."

This is an all-ages event, but folks must be at least 21 years old to enter the beer garden. It's also a dog-friendly venue, but keep the critters leashed and be ready to clean up after them.

The array of food trucks includes the following:

The varied vendors include ASAP Retro Games & More, The Fairy Oddmother, The Scrub Girl, Serina's Delights and Touchstone Crystal, among others.

The local musicians bringing their talents to the event also bring a range of styles. They include Deaf Rhino, Jean Pool, Joe Sang to Me, John the Gun, Pom Oak and Wyland.

General-admission tickets are $5, either at the door or online online, and kids 7 and under are free. If you're wary of food truck lines, VIP tickets are $8 and get you in an hour early, at 11 a.m.

A portion of sales from the event will benefit the Lyndhurst Food Pantry.

The carnival will also do double-duty as a grand re-opening of sorts for the Whiskey Bar and Bistro, Davis said. After 24 years, the Whiskey Cafe had closed in April 2015. Davis said its new owners bought it, in part, for its large parking lot, because they wanted wanted to hold outdoor events.

The Bergen County Food Truck & Music Carnival will run from noon to 7 p.m., rain or shine, in the Whiskey Bar and Bistro lot, at 1050 Wall St. W.
