Regulars clamored to get their last pies before the popular family-run pizzeria officially closed shop at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

“Go early,” one pizza-lover advised others on Facebook a few days before the closing. “I hear they have been running out of dough due to the overwhelming demand.”

Others said they were buying extra pizza to put in their freezers.

“Contemplating buying a small chest freezer to fill,” one person wrote on Facebook.

Longtime customer Mike Leone even created a video tribute to say goodbye to the restaurant he had been visiting since he was a child. (CLICK HERE TO WATCH THE VIDEO.)

Walter Curioni, who started his retirement Thursday, had owned Curioni's since 1975. Before he took over, his father had managed the store since 1945. His grandfather opened the business in 1923.

A sign hanging in the window of Curioni’s reads: “To the greatest customers a business could ever have. Thanks for 94 years! God Bless You All!”
