The donation, presented June 14 on behalf of Dr. Richard and Linda Santucci and the Chamber of Commerce, will benefit The Columbians, an Italian-American group that raises money for scholarships and for those suffering hardships, according to the statement.
The Santuccis were honored for these and similar efforts recently at the Chamber of Commerce’s 2016 Distinguished Citizen Gala and, according to the statement, all money raised during the celebration will benefit a charity of their choice.
“(Richard and Linda) Santucci have been dedicated to the Hackensack Chamber and many other organizations in our area over the years,” said Diane Some, president of the Chamber, in the statement. “We are honored to be a part of giving back to such a wonderful charity.”Last year, The Columbians awarded $45,000 in scholarships and $10,000 to those suffering hardships, according to the statement, which noted that the group has awarded more than $1 million throughout its history.
